Llanberis has a good High Street including a Post Office, a well-stocked Chemist, and a SPAR supermarket (all very close to Plas Coch).
The Canolfan Croeso Cymru (Welsh Tourist welcome and information centre) is an excellent first call for all sorts of information about the area. Other shops of special interest, and all on the High Street itself, are the following:
- Since June 2004 Llanberis has had a new service wash laundry on the High Street - 'Swigod a Sebon'. This is an excellent facility run by an experienced local family who already have a good reputation. For any washing, ironing and dry-cleaning, they are just about 50 yards up the road from Plas Coch.
- For excellent delicatessen-type food with a good range of organic products, go to Saffron delicatessen - just a few doors away from the laundry. You can get very good sandwiches here for your days out.
- During the summer months you can also buy sandwiches - very good ones which will make an excellent picnic lunch - at the Pannier Sandwich Shop in the same block as Saffron, Swigod a Sebon, and the Chemist.
- For outdoor gear, go to Joe Brown's mountain shop. Joe Brown, of course, made his reputation first as a mountaineer himself in the area, and has been running his excellent shop for many years now. On the High Street, close to 'Swigod a Sebon' laundry.
- If you are looking for more general outdoor items like flasks, picnic equipment and so on, Formag Hardware has an excellent range at very good prices. One of those shops that seems to sell everything, with knowledgeable and helpful staff. On the High Street, just next to the Tourist Information Office.
- We have an excellent (and I know this from personal experience) acupuncture, massage and reflexology clinic - the Snowdonia Natural Health Clinic. As well as being a fully-qualified practitioner (LicAc, MBAcC, IIHHT, IIST), Hilary has spent many years as a climber herself, and uniquely placed to understand and treat the physical problems that can sometimes result from walking, climbing, and so on. Her address is Maesteg, High Street, Llanberis (directly opposite Plas Coch in fact) and the phone number is 01286 871187.
- We have an antiques shop on the High Street - Roberts Antiques. Russell always has an interesting stock and welcomes people in to look round.
- There are two Internet Cafes in Llanberis. One is upstairs in Pete's Eats (see under Cafes) and one is in the 'Castle' Gift Shop.
